Hi everyone,

I've recently been following Gregg Lewis' awesome PnP game Outrider, which simulates post apocalyptic car skirmishes. While browsing the game's forums I came across an excellent terrain builder thread by Kai Bettzieche which I wanted to share.

I've been having some satisfaction problems with my own mechaton terrain, as I've insisted on using mechs in the style of zizzy's AF1 and AF3 frames ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=84716 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=142850) which can make it fairly material intensive to construct buildings large enough to grant convincing cover.

The following link is for a trashy container town, built by Kai, using Marcos Hidalgo's fantastic Toposolitario and Ikube PnP terrain pieces.

The scale of these PnP materials is probably a bit too big to provide the feel of giant mechs battling one another, but you can always reduce the scale of the materials until you get the right "feel" for your game.

I'm currently working on two 24 x 36" maps, printed at 50% size. This will hopefully facilitate some nice Patlabor-esq battles.

Finding these threads definitely reinvigorated my interest in Mechaton, seeing as it provides an interesting, easy to assemble, and modular terrain.

I hope this helps others with their games!

I think I've seen those paper "shipping containers" before. Thanks for the links, but I tend to stick with lego parts for terrain.
