I found the beginning of the game too slow with less than 5 people. I get 4 areas and 4 economy cards. I think that I have to modify it, because we can fight against each othr after the first hour. So, my idea is to start the game with at least 6 or 7 areas, and with more starting pieces (+4 infantry and 1 or 2 tanks)
I hope that we will battle sooner!devil

You are better off just buying the Attack! Deluxe Expansion. It takes this game to a whole new level and will definitely eliminate the "slow start syndrome" that you experienced.

Might be what the OP is looking for, but the Deluxe expansion is simply a different game. I think Attack's simplicity (no expansions) has its merit.
