I came to the forum looking for a sleeving option for the cards and saw one thread on that topic, but I was amazed to see no threads mentioning of the poor card quality. This has been a really fun game that I can see playing often, but after 2-3 plays shuffling only once per game, the backs of the Night deck especially are de-laminating and the black border is breaking away at the corners to where a number of the cards now have white at spots around the border which leaves them effectively marked (not to mention damaged). I am very gentle with my games and own many, many card games, but have never seen quality this poor. Did I just get a bad copy of the game and everyone else's holds up to shuffling or are others having this same issue?

I've played three dozen games of Day & Night, unsleeved, and have not had any issues at all with the cards getting marked up. Maybe I and the people I game with are unusually gentle, but the game is still good. The only issue I had with the cards was their intense stiffness, and with use that's lessened (although they're still pretty stinkin' stiff).

My cards are holding up fine as well (7 games). Yes, they are a pain to shuffle, though, being so stiff.

I don't know what the deal is. I hadn't even noticed the size/stiffness, they feel rather nice if you have big hands. Like I said, I handle my games very gently and know how to take care of cards. Looking at the cards right now, the Day deck looks near pristine, but nearly every card in the Night deck has this issue with the corners. Here's the best picture I could snap with my camera phone, but it should be pretty clear that after 3 games there is some serious damage to the cards and some are clearly marked. Maybe this set of cards was just printed badly, I don't know. It's frustrating since it is such an enjoyable game and nobody else seems to have this problem...

David : You are not alone. The same happened to my copy of D'n'N. Night cards are very sensitive and quickly become damaged (very similar to yours) - I realize it just after my first game! Day cards seems to be the same poor quality as Night cards, but in fact they are somehow better.
