1. Once a business is established, does that "block" the continuous road for other players?

2. Can you build more than one "Coastal" business on the same type of land?

1. Yes, they can block. You must be able to trace a continuous link of *your* businesses back to the coast.

2. There are no restrictions on coast building.

Without getting into strategy (I want to develop my own). Is the game just a game of "chase the scoring cards" or is it deeper than that?

I just got the game, but I've never played, my gaming group will only let me introduce a game when I have it totally figured out first.
