I found this picture and it shows exactly what my board is like. You can see where it is taped together down the center, but the sides of the tape have huge "ridges". Hard to explain. Look at the picture in high-res. I put some heavy text books on the board to get it to lay flat, but even after the board stays flat the ridges are still VERY much there.
Should I be upset with this? All other components are fine, but this really kinda bugged me.

Certainly looks like there was a manufacturing error in that batch. The camels are very light and I wouldn't trust them not to slide around on the tilted board.

Okay. I just sent a "parts request" to FFG explaining my issue and a link to this post. I will post their response and hopefully a successful resolution soon.

 maybe my standards are just too high. The board lays flat, but still have some ridges, not as bad, but

Wow this is weird... I'm always ULTRA perfectionist about everything... every minor detail is important to me. My board had ridges EXACTLY like this one and I didn't even mind lol... I thought it was normal... and now because of you post, I feel like contacting FF...but meh, is it really worth it?

Really sorry, but I think your being just a bit too picky. I've purchased several board games over the years which makes this one look pretty good. Only one was worth writing to customer service about..."Weird U.S.".

Mine looks identical. It doesn't bother me much so I'll probably just deal with it, but I could definitely see it annoying some people.

My board was similar, but I don't remember it being quite that bad. I carefully reverse-bent the folds and it lays pretty flat now.
