I went through a fair number of posts on these forums, and didn't see this answered. So I apologize if I missed the post, and this is a repost...
In Ponyri, the town in the middle of the map is made up of 5 hexes; 2 at the "top", 2 at the "bottom", and one in between these sets. So my question is about LoS in this town. Let's say the Axis control the 2 "top" ones, and the Allies the other 3. Can the troops in the "bottom" two see the enemies in the "top" 2? I presume yes, if the hexes on either side of the middle town hex are unoccupied, but I wondered if it could be clarified here.
Second, what if the middle hex is unoccupied? Can troops see "through" the unoccupied hex, being in the same town (similar to hill ranges)?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Okay, thought of another. How many die would be rolled in the above scenarios? You're in the same town, so do you still roll fewer die as if attacking in to the town? Or do you roll the unit's normal die number, since you're in the town already?

Yes, for the reason you've outlined above.

No. A town hex is a town hex, and it blocks LOS whether or not it is occupied.

The terrain penalties of the hex you're firing into always apply, not matter where you stand.
(Unless you're firing artillery, of course.)

Okay. So the adjacent town hexes are completely different from adjacent hill hexes it sounds like. I suppose it makes sense, presuming each hex that makes up the town is made up of streets that you obviously can't see through. :) So a bit disappointing, but it makes sense. :)
Thanks very much!!!

Thanks for the link. I've actually seen that before. Unfortunately it doesn't address same-city hexes such as the Ponyri scenario, here: http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/editor/view/?id=1365

talking of links to Dow have you seen this one:
http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/en/content/cards_compen... The deck is specifically for Urban Combat and allows you to overcome some of the limitations you addressed above.

I had seen that, but haven't ever bought that pack. That was mostly made for Sword of Stalingrad, right? How is that? I've not played/purchased it yet.
