As of today, the 2nd print run of Alien Frontiers is all but sold out at the warehouse and I have just signed a contract with Panda Games Mfg for a third print run.

Barring skewed dice, Chinese holidays, and unscheduled earthquakes, 5000 bright shiny new copies of AF will arrive in the USA in late August 2011.

Is it possible the Chinese government is concerned that Alien Frontiers is a US based Star Wars project and is delaying the delivery?

Sweet jeebus, that's 9,000 copies (more or less) in circulation...

Now that you've signed the contract for the third printing, when do you think you'll publish an expansion or two?

Got to get on that...would be nice to get an expansion out by the end of the year.

The dice shall remain square-faced.

I'll be licensing AF to a game publisher in France to produce AF for the EU market in the major EU languages for late 2011

Yes, though I think they plan to change the box cover art.

I like the way you put that, Todd

Yes, there are zero PLANNED changes for the 3rd printing. Of course, if I screw up the proofing again we may end up with chartreuse card backs.

Neither dice nor radiation nor color of card backs shall keep the second printing from its appointed sales....

I'll have an official announcement on that soon...but the signs and portents are very favorable.

Since you bring it up, going forward (3rd & future printings) are you keeping the purple-tinted cards, or reverting to first printing color?

Every future printing and every future expansion SHOULD have the same purplish card backs as the 2nd printing.

Those who purchased or kickstarted the 1st printing will be able to obtain purple AT decks (and space crane cards) in a few months. We're bundling that job into the 3rd printing project.

Awesome! We played our first game with the purple backed promo and though it worked with the "face up deck and two cards to the side" system, there were a few close calls with sliding cards during a draw.

French, German, Spanish, and Italian.

A separate license with a different publisher will cover Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Lithuanian and Finnish.
