After 1 play I only have this one weird rule question. On a few spots of the board (Ravensburger version), there are walls that are only one space long. Considering an example in the rulebook that shows that you can move diagonally between another chariot and the beginning or end of a wall, I don't see a way that these walls do anything. Are these spaces essentially the same as non-wall spaces?

well, the wall near Caesar's box prevents you from entering the lane to make tribute from the lanes farthest away from the box if you are racing in that direction

They are only aesthetic and don't play any role in the game, indeed I suppressed them in my home-made tracks to avoid confussion.

Lorna, I'm not sure if your answer makes sense because I can't see how a one space long wall can prevent diagonal movement in any way. If I'm thinking of the same spot as you are referring to, this risk of not making it over far enough to get into the alley is not due to the wall itself, but just that the number of lane changes required means you need to start changing lanes prior to the wall in order to make it. My apologies if I've misunderstood, if so please clarify thanks!

Miguel, your answer confirms my initial interpretation. Strange that they would have placed these walls on the board.
