Hello all!

I have just completed a large soundtrack for TS, which I divided into the three phases. I just change the playlist when the new war phases are started. I took only period songs that were usually relevant to the cold war, in feeling if not in lyrics.

TS Early:
Fanfare for the Common Man- aaron copland
Thirteen men- Ann-margaret(a jazzy number about post apocalyptic ruin)
9th Symphony -Antonin Dvorak (just feels russiany)
Rockin behind the Iron Curtain- Bobby Marchan and the clowns
Guided Missles- the cufflinks (a doo-wop song comparing ICBMS to a lover's betrayel)
Take 5- Dave Brubeck
Blue rondo a la turk- Dave Brubeck
Cultural Exchange- Dave brubeck and Louis Armstrong
Atomic Cocktail- Slim Gaillard Quartette
The Planets, Op.31:1 Mars- gustav Holst (this one is GREAT!)
Atomic Bomb Blues- Muddy Waters
I don't want to set the world of fire- the ink spots (stolen from fallout3)
Leave de Atom Alone- josephine Premice (funny)
Main Theme from "exodus"- (middle east crisis themed song)
Also Sprach Zarathustra
Romeo and Juliet- Prokofiev
Mushroom cloud- Sammy Salvo (also great)
Radioactive Mama- Sheldon Allman
West of the wall- toni fischer (possibly my favorite)
Mr. Kruschev- Bo diddley
Bikini- Dexter Gordon (as in the bikini atoll not the swimwear)

TS Mid:
Lots of little soldiers- Barry Dransfield
Back in the USSR- Beatles (had to include it)
Masters of War- Bob Dylan
Get up Stand up- Bob Marley (if this song isnt red it's definitely a deep pink)
For What its worth- Buffalo Springfield
Fortunate Son- CCR
Season of the witch- Donovan
The end- the doors
War- Edwin Starr
Suicide is Painless- Johnny Mandel
Lucky Man- Lake Emerson and Palmer
Adagio for Strings- Leonard Bernstein
Mass XI. Meditation no.3- Leonard Bernstein
Mass XII. Offertory- Leonard Bernstein (these two were a great suggestion from a previous post)
Symphony no. 5- Shostakovich
Red's Dream- Louisiana Red
Nixon in China Act 1 scene 1 and act 2 scene 2
Et exspecto resurrectionem- messiaen
Love for the three oranges march- Prokofiev
Sound of Silence- Simon and Garfunkle
Scarborough Fair- Simon and Garfunkle
I ain't marching anymore- Phil Ochs

TS Late:
Leningrad- Billy Joel
Moonlight and Vodka- Chris de Burgh
War Party- Eddy Grant
Mutiny- Crimson Tide Soundtrack
Roll Tide- Crimson Tide Soundtrack
Top Gun Anthem
Hymn to Red October- Hunt for Red October
No Mas!- John McCutcheon
Russians- Sting
One of our Submarines- Thomas Dolby

Many of the hard to find songs can be found using bit torrent or other similar software (search for "atomic platters")

That is a good couple of hours just for the Early war. I'll post mid and late war song lists later.

A very nice mix.

Of course, after a couple of hours, you'll be in the late war...

Well I change the soundtracks when I change the phases. This way none of the songs get old since they are different almost every time I play.

This is the worst impression of a northern accent I've ever read. :p

I'd recommend "Russians" by Sting and especially "Hammer to Fall" by Queen. Oh, and Stan Freberg is the pinnacle of radio comedy.

Romeo and Juliet- Prokofiev???

That's the entire piece isn't it?
You mean: Montescus y Capuletos, from Romeo and Juliet, right?

This one:
http://grooveshark.com/s/Romeo+And+Juliet+Op+64+Montagus+And...

For those who don't immediately recognize the title; You'll be taken right back to the soundtrack of every "Shark Week" on Discovery Channel once the music "really" starts.

There are many versions of this piece but most I could find are truncated at the end, this one is truncated at the beginning. The slow creepy start has been taken out.

This is by far my favorite Prokofiev piece and it's meant to be played LOUD!

[EDIT] I saw that yours was only made-in-that-period music, so my recommendation would not really work.

I really like the creativity that went into this list. Kudos.

---------------------

Even though it's for an alternate history WWII scenario in a video game, starting turn 1 with Hell March from Command & Conquer Red Alert would be an extremely appropriate addition.
