I'm a little late jumping on the bandwagon for this game (especially now that it's OOP), but from what I've seen and read I prefer the CCG version over the LCG. The fact that the cards are being sold dirt cheap at the moment being in no small part a deciding factor. :-) However, I've bought plenty of boosters and yet have to get a starter deck so I can get the story/domain cards that I need. I was thinking of picking up a case/box of the Eldritch Premium and Arkham starters (Mythos and Investigator) from Dacard.com, but I really don't need several copies of each. With shipping (which I'm guessing to be around $10) we could split the cost at about $7 per person (not including shipping from my home town, SLC, UT). That would be for all three, unopened starter decks. Are there still four fellow "geeks" out there still interested in this game enough to split this with me. I won't purchase anything till I have four definate "yes" responses.

You'd be better off getting the Eldritch premium starter 5 pack. Each one has the story cards and 6 exclusive cards that were pretty good if I remember correctly.

I apologize. I meant the Premium packs. Fixed that. Thank you. :-)
There are still five starters to a box, and if I'm reading things right it's a fixed deck. I don't need five copies of the same thing. Not to mention the cheapest price for ONE starter deck (the Mythos/Investigator decks) on the net is around $5 (not including shipping), and by sharing a box we can get all THREE for $2 more. I might as well seek outside investors if they're interested. Perhaps I'll be forced to buy the whole box anyway, but thought I give this a try first.
Happy Easter everyone!!!

Jerry, where are you obtaining these, out of curiosity. I have an Eldritch Starter Box, but it only has two decks therein, and I have no idea what is in the 5 pack (I'm BRAND NEW to all of this and admittedly have no idea what I'm doing).
I might be inclined to participate with you if I knew more first though. Trying alternatives here is a great idea, so I do hope it works out for you.

Hey Phil,
I'm looking at Dacardworld.com. It was listed in an earlier post. They box I'd buy is a display box like what a local retailer would buy. The Eldritch Premium box has 5 starter sets, and the Arkham box has 10 starter sets (5 of both the Mythos starter and the Investigator starter). Check it out and tell me what you think.

Hi,
a word of advice. Although ccg might be cheap to start with, once you get into the game (and you will, I swear), you will start seeking those expensive and hard to find rares that you need in 3x. Of course you can go the proxy way but at the end you will be paying quite a bit; and then you will start considering playing the LCG, since most of people play that format now. And then you will end up buying LCG packs. So why not start from LCG directly ? All packs are being reprinted in 3x format now and although it's not cheap either, at least it provides all the options of a complete game. Good luck anyway and enjoy... it's a great game !

Thanks for the advice. :-)
I've already looked at the pros and cons of both the LCG and CCG format. I don't plan on taking part of any tourneys, and my decks built between plays are going to be random. I just want all the pieces neccessary for play and a hefty stack of cards to keep things interesting. I don't even really want 3 of each card. I'd be happy having one or two copies as long as I can get more diversity without spending a huge chunk of change.

Since I've gotten only 1 maybe thus far I've decided to go another route. I guess people just aren't into the CCG anymore. Thanks for reading my post and good luck to all the Call of Cthulhu gamers out there!
