Hi guys,
I have the Z-Man version, but I find it completely unplayable. The cursive font used is illegible to my sad old eyes, even with reading glasses.
I would happily pay again for a re-designed deck, but I'm surprised that an alternative hasn't yet appeared on Artscow.
Any ideas? I love the game, but it is badly let down by the impractical card design. The artwork, the them, these don't trouble me... it's the TEXT.
thanks heaps, LBB

Hi Lee,
I presume you're talking about the following version:
The text is really immaterial to the gameplay - the only words that need to be taken note of are the You, All, Hunt etc. Which aren't in cursive.
Once you learn the symbols etc, the game plays extremely quickly with no real need to reference much beyond some initial visual cues.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding!
Cheers,
Giles.

I agree with the inital post, yes the cards are really poorly designed and are quite difficult to read which makes the game for me atleast less enjoyable than what it could be.
The Chapter 2 cards are probably the worst of the lot. Just look at Fairy Tale - Chapter 2, even trying to recognise the image icons on that card I find difficult!
"Children of the dragon", "Homesteaders" and "Michievous Fairy" are not that bad as you just have to spot the same card.
The x 3 cards I do consider bad as you are trying to spot cards that just look like every other card and the images all merge with the colour of the card and nothing really pops out to say THIS IS A CARD YOU ARE AFTER.
When I played I also found myself looking at each card to count the sword, dragon and fairy icons before I realised, wait thats just the colour of the cards... duh!
As Giles said the text isn't that important and if you play the game often you will soon get use to the cards. But I still believe the game itself could be taken up a notch with a better re-design of the cards.
