I picked up The Ladybug earlier this week and got a chance to play two games with the new expansion.

I've never been a fan of the Queen Bee opener; I generally prefer to open with a Beetle, and then the Queen or a Spider depending what my opponent does.

I opened both games with my Ladybug, and in both games got her next to the opposing Queen pretty quickly. Her unique movement is great for getting her out of the starting location and into a strong offensive position in one move, where I would usually try to get a Beetle onto the opposing Queen or next to her, over two or three turns.

The Ladybug is difficult to trap and her movement lets her get into both defensive/trapping positions or offensive positions very quickly.

I like it a lot, she seems much more useful than the Mosquito, who usually spends the game being an extra Ant (useful, sure, but not very interesting).
