I've played this a bit.The way I play it is when a character is discovered to be innocent. He is flipped for the rest of the game. But other people I play it with.Say no it's flipped for a moment.Making it more of a memory part to the game.I guess it doesn't change it.But making it a little harder.I mean if you really want a challenge.Just use the card seen or not seen.No flipping needed. No note pad or visual aid of oh I remember him flipping the black one so he must be innocent.Just memory and thinking. But which of the first two is right. The rules does say it is to be flipped. But it doesn't say it stays flipped or not.

The rules say it is flipped, and do not say it gets flipped back. Note also that the online implementation does not flip them back. Your friends are playing a variant, not by the actual rules.

Don't really see it as a variant that adds to the game either. Lots of games do get an increase in tension etc through hidden information, but in Mr Jack the tension comes from the progressive whittling down of suspects...
