I just bought a used copy of this game. I came home and counted all the pieces, and it turns out that about 10 of the square markers are missing. It seems like it's a mix of all the different kinds.
So my question is this: Is it still possible to play the game, or should I take it back??
Thanks in advance ;-)

The square ones are all supplies up for purchase, so you definitely could play the game without them. If everybody bought the same thing at the same time, you'd have to substitute something temporarily until somebody used one up and put it back in the supply.
But definitely take Roland up on his offer.

Guten Heute, Roland.
I am not sure which ones I am missing, because I haven't seen a full inventory count. But I have counted the ones I have, and maybe you can let me know which ones I don't have. (If this is "a storm in a glass of water", just let me know, and I'll just play with the markers I have now, hehe)
This is what I have:
Wares: 10 x Whiskey 2 x Cart 3 x Boat 3 x Horse 2 x Rifle 2 x Axe 2 x Fishing Rod 2 x Sieve 2 x Dynamite
Raw materials: 20 x Timber 20 x Food 12 x Tools
Works: 5 x Fish Trap 9 x Mine 5 x Saw Mill
Am I missing any important ones??
Once again, thanks a bunch for your help ;-)

Well, don't I look like the fool now, making a fuzz over nothing.
I thought there were some counters missing, because a printout, that was in the box, of the english rules said there should be 90 square markers, instead of 79.
I am sorry for making you count all yours for no reason at all...
But thanks for your help, everyone. And I am sure I'll have fun playing it ;-)

I recently acquired a used copy of Lost Valley and seem to be short one round landscape marker. The instructions state that 99 are included with the game. I have 98. Here is the run down of what I have:
36 grey backed (mountaingold) markers:
17 with 3 gold nuggets 19 with 4 gold nuggets
31 green backed (rivergold) markers:
20 with 1 gold nugget 11 with 2 gold nuggets
12 animal backed markers:
2 with bear / 4 food 4 with wolf / 2 food 4 with caribou / 3 food 2 with rat / 1 food
19 ? backed (event) markers:
2 with 1 gold nugget 2 with 2 gold nuggets 3 with fish / 4 food 3 with dynamite 2 with fishing rod 3 with whiskey 2 with ax 2 with rifle
So my questions are:
- What marker am I missing? - Do I need this missing marker to play the game? - What do I lose/miss in the game play by not having this marker? - Does anyone know how I can acquire this missing marker?
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

17 should be 18.
Shouldn't affect the game too much. You have a slightly higher chance of getting 4 gold than usual.
