Hey there,
My friend and I have decided to start making cars for Dark Future. We went crazy on Hot Wheels, so we have a lot to work with. It has been a blast and works out well since he is the artist and I am the glue god.
Here are 6 of them that we have done. The pickup is not fully done yet; it still needs something mounted in the back. I would love to hear any ideas anyone has for weapons or anything else to mount on the cars. Anything is welcome (and for him the crazier the better, since he got a kick out of mounting a big horse head on the front of one of his). Also the guys next to the cars aren't pained...and I don't know why but I really like miniatures that aren't painted more then ones that are. I guess I like to imagine more what they would look like.
Anyway enough rambling, here are the pictures:

Looks great so far. The figures are way off scale. But short of getting some of the older Shadowrun and Gamma World minis from way back, its hard to find smaller scale miniatures sometimes that fit the scale of the average Hotwheels car.
As for ideas for weapons. Hotwheels has been putting out some weapon kits for one of their sideline car sets that might be applicable. Also weapons can be scavenged off most mecha miniatures such as Battletech. There are also a few sites that make and sell vehicle weapon accessory packs for these sorts of projects.

Yea I know about the figures being so big. It was hard to find ones that fit a "Mad Max" type feel and still fit the size. Also it would help if I had the cars on bases too to elevate them a bit more. I am not too worried tho because I can just let my imagination go and think of them the same size.
I didn't know about the Hotwheels weapon kits. Thank you very much! We got some of these guns and the battle ram on the armored car by going through a bits bin at a local gaming store. There were a lot of loose guns and goodies in there for super cheap. The guns on the side of the hot rod were prob like 15 cents for both, and the flame thrower on the hood was like $1.
Another thing we did was order a big lot of gi joe guns that should be coming soon from e-bay. There should be some good riles that will work with the handles sawn off.
Next step will probably be playing with that yellow car and "dirtying it up" a bit. But not bad for a few days of work.

You may have already come across these, but if not, theyre definitely worth a look. I use the weapons for my Outrider cars. and the figures are 20mm, a better match for Hot Wheels scale ... and they've got that all-important Road Warrior 'look'

All that said, I would truly fear any Wastelander with a Tau Burst Cannon on his roof

Thank you!
I saw his cars and we were getting ideas from them, but I didn't look at the figures. I wish I did before dropping $70 on the others. lol
I am going to show my friend because it might be fun to use a few in the backs of pickup trucks.

Well the truck has been completed. We were looking through his mother's old Ham Radio bits and found a couple nice pieces to use on it. One I used on the top and another on the back of the truck. Ah well, take a look:
Now I have a delivery truck we repainted to look more like a faded out ice cream truck and a cop car to work on before I have all my pieces. He has another like 25 cars he wants to do and is thinking of selling some.
Also I just got some GI Joe guns from ebay in the mail yesterday and he has some coming too..so more guns to mount!
