Alysa is one of the most kind-hearted and generous geeks on BGG.

That's why she was the first, who became the Love-Spreader of the Week mb

Alysa is a Queen of PnP. Look at her beautiful games: PnP Games crafted by Aenea

Thanks to Svetlana for thinking of me, never thought I would be a GW!

As a kid I loved to play boardgames like most of us. I also wanted to try games which were less mainstreamy back then and got some but my family didn't want to go past Monopoly, Risk, Stratego and some cardgames.

In 1996 there were lots of tv ads about Magic the Gathering, the Portal starter set. It got me interested so I bought it and got 2 friends to play it with me regularly. After a while I wanted to try my hand on some boardgames as well, so when I walked into Scheltema in Amsterdam, a large bookstore which also stocked quite a few boardgames I never heard of, when I left I rode away on my bike with 2 huge bags full of boardgames. Never got my 2 Magic playing friends interested and they were never played

In 2007 I met a friend from a friend online and after a while we started talking about boardgames. We met up in Amsterdam but before I went there I bought BattleLore and some other games. We only got around to playing BattleLore but I was hooked! I found BGG then and browsed around alot and in the next few months I bought Memoir'44 and all the expansions I could find for both BattleLore and M44. The following year I stopped being a guest user and registered, still lurking around mostly.

I remember my first post well and it almost made me quit BGG because it got a lot of negative feedback besides the positive ones, it also started my crafting of games and game parts which has become a large part of the hobby for me as well. In 2009 I found the Feel the Love thread and made many friends there, I even wrote a program for that thread, one that was both loved and hated by some. That thread made me more and more involved on BGG though and can't think of my boardgaming life without that thread and BGG in general!

Poll
Two Statements and a Lie from Aenea
1. I played boardgames in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam while enjoying some of the nicer items on their, ehmm, menu.
2. I could solve a Rubik's cube under 42 seconds and wrote a booklet about how to solve them.
3. I have 2 cats called Zotteke and Zoeteke even though I never liked pets when I was younger.

Congrats Aenea!

A quick question: if you could choose anywhere to travel for an all-expenses paid vacation, where would it be? And what game would you bring?

Oh and I don't know about the lie, but I bet the Amsterdam cafe one is true...

Very warmest congratulations Alysa!

Yes, I too have benefitted from your generosity on BGG - you helped me to get my uber-geek badge (and I am STILL grateful!)

I also always appreciate your straightforward honesty and insight on the love-thread - especially when you are willing to say something perhaps others would baulk at. I admire your guts!!!

Have a great week on here - you certainly deserve it.
