This is more of an inquiry than an instructional post.

I noticed that omen cards are a bone of contention among many players, and a main concern when giving Pompeii a lower rating.

I also know that many posters have very valid reasons for keeping omen cards as is. This is mainly a thread for people who are dissatisfied with the omen cards.

The best I could come up with is: only use 3/5/7 omen cards for 2/3/4 players.

This will help limit the chances of the game taking a turn for the worse with bad omen cards draws. What do you think?

Any other ways to balance the omen cards out? And if you have made a variation (and I've seen some good one in other threads; I'll post them on this thread soon), how has it played over multiple games?

I'm happy to let fate decide upon the distribution of Omen cards.

I have to agree with Liam, I have no problem with the Omen cards. I can understand those who do, and your idea to reduce the number of them sounds like the best solution (or just eliminate them all if they really bug you.)

I like the Omen cards as is. They function to set up the meta game for Round Two once the lava starts pouring in. You start to discern who's gonna play "nice", who plays "fair", who plays for "balance", who plays for "vengeance", who plays "target the leader", who plays to kill with glee.

That really makes a lot of sense.

Agreed. I've not noticed a problem
