This has probably been addressed elsewhere, but I was wondering if there is an official ruling on this.
Would the first player just get moved to the Harborside Streets?

Notes:
Traveller Lost in Fog!
Headline: The first player must immediately move to the Strange High House in the Mist.

Kingsport Mists
Environment (Weather): Sneak checks in Arkham are made at a +1 bonus. The Causeway, the Wireless Station, and the Strange High House in the Mists are closed while this card remains in play.

People have been coming up with some interesting questions lately.

The only similar situation I can think of involves the 4th of July parade. If, during the parade, an investigator is in some location in the Merchant District neighborhood that suddenly becomes closed, he gets booted through the streets into the next nearest street (he has a few choices).

So I'd say that this poor dope would be lost in the fog, only to emerge at the Harborside streets.

Edit: this is another example of my rule-of-thumb: restrictions preclude allowances. He has to move to the Strange High House, but he can't be there.

"If the terror level reaches 3, place a closed marker on the
General Store. It is closed for the rest of the game and
no one may enter that location. Immediately move any
investigators and monsters currently at the General Store
to the Rivertown street area."

so you couldn't move to the house and if you were already there you would get booted to the streets?

Hopefully at some point they'll stop trying to answer "all" of them and just release the FAQ for the ones they already have...

There are also a few "move to X and have an encounter there" Arkham Encounters which could leave you in a closed location, in which case "end up in the streets" also seems fair.

However, on 4th of July parade I think it would be fine to leave them in the streets. It's not closing the streets in the same way, it's saying that you can't move into or out of them. In Traveller Lost in Fog, you get to Strange High House, which is closed and kicks you to Wireless Station, which is closed and kicks you to Causeway, which is closed and kicks you to the streets. In this one, the location you're in is closed, which kicks you to Merchant District, which doesn't move you anywhere further because you can exist there.

Some clarification about what happens if the location you're in isn't closed but you get a "move to the street" encounter and/or Barred from Merchant District might be needed, too. I think you'd temporarily remain where you were.

Hah, that raises an even more obscure question - you're in the second area of Another Dimension or the Dreamlands without a Gate Box, not delayed, and the only open gate to that Other World is a Lurker moving gate in the Merchant Districts (or a static gate opened with Naacal Key, I suppose). The 4th July parade is on. Do you:
a) return as normal?
b) stay where you are?
c) get lost in time and space?

d) return, and then get booted to an adjacent street, losing your Explored token?

Oh right, I didn't notice that the MD streets weren't technically closed.

Um, I'm going to say that, in the same way that a gate on a closed location overrides the close, that a gate in the MD streets overrides the parade and you come back just fine. Which also implies that you could move onto or through that space while the gate is there.

If you then close the gate, you don't get booted out because you weren't suddenly forced to enter the streets, you were already there.
