Tonight we played a session AGoT. We used the harbors and the house cards from ACoK. I heard many negative things about the house cards. I didn't even want to give them a try. However, they are really cool. They make good card management essential. The effect that they render armies useless wasn't the case. The battles were still dominated by the large armies.
We played a four player game. Tyrell was giving us a hard time. In round 9 Stark won due to a Rob Stark attack on the Lannisters, who herself helped the Baratheons not to be overrun by the Tyrells. Great game, very close game. H

I agree with you. We haven't played in the base game since I got the CoK in my hand.

The cards do become very important as the 'graveyards' build up and you can have a lot of stealing abilities and cancelling texts, etc, that can turn a battle upside down or lead to game changing events just based on the card (Robb stark, mace tyrell, etc). That means you have to pay a lot more attention to what cards have been used and what haven't, beyond the numerical powers of the cards, which slows the game down. But if you enjoy playing with these text effects, as we do, then it is fun
