I will soon be playing this game for the first time.

I don't have the rules at hand now, but if I recall correctly, the rules don't specify a turn order for the placing of meeples on answer boards. I take it that this means everyone places their meeples all at once, once the answer boards have been laid down. Is that right?

I can see method that being a good method, in the sense that the alternative of placing meeples one by one might slow the game down too much.

But I am curious as to whether placing meeples all at once ever generates problems with children. For instance, I can imagine a case in which a child (who has already placed both of his meeples on answer boards) sees that lots of other meeples have been placed on a particular answer that he did not put a meeple on. So he moves one of his meeples from its original spot to this more popular spot. This prompts his sister to shout "Not fair! You can't move your meeple once it is placed!"

Have situations like this arisen in your experience? If so, do you have a house rule that meeple-moving is permitted? Or maybe a house rule that forbids this? (If the latter rule is your house rule, does this make people hesitate before placing their meeples, wanting to see what others do first?)

As I said, I have not yet played this game. Maybe I'm overthinking it and this is not a problem in practice. Just curious what people's experience has been.

I have been playing this game this week with about 8 children ages 9-12. Our group didn't have any problems. I allowed the kids to place their meeples all at once & if they wanted to move them to another answer that was OK. It was interesting to see how many might be influenced by someone else and where they put their meeples. I would always move things along by saying something about time to finish placing your meeples. It worked fine for us. Hope this helps

It is legal for players to move their Meeples as much as they want. If people are taking a long time, you could use a sand timer from another game (like the original W&W), but we have not found this to be a problem.
