I understand that a pawn may be slid to make room for a cube. But can a cube be placed in such a way that a pawn is slide down to a 1/4 cube space? (in other words there is only enough room for 1 pawn on the surface.)
Certainly, a long as the piece you're placing is fully supported underneath, you could place it in such a way that there's only 1 available spot for a climber to be in on the block that's being partially covered (for example, if you half-covered the thin side of the smallest block type). This is only really relevant if the "up" side of the piece being covered is grey, though.
