I recently got a copy of the S. Jackson printing of The Awful Green Things from Outer Space I love a game that gives the opportunity from some lighthearted storytelling as the game plays out. This game made me laugh, even though I'm pretty sure that I am not getting all the rules right.

Here are some of my questions:

1. Can only one AGT be targeted by one weapon? For example, if my cook is holding a stun gun that shrinks AGTs, can he only shrink one AGT, even if there are several line-of-sight targets available?

2. If an AGT is shrunk, is it removed from the game?

3. Is there ever a situation where an AGT already on the board is returned to the AGT player to be used again?

4. In the hallways of the ship, is each section marked off by a thin black line considered a separate area? For example, if a crew member flings rocket fuel from his area into an adjacent area, is he affected by it?

I'd appreciate any help you can give me!

1. It varies by weapon. Most weapons affect a single AGT, but some affect all AGT's in a space or even in an entire sequence of spaces until you hit doors. (Refer to the rules for details. I've been meaning to make a play aid with setup summary on one side and weapon rules on the other)

2. Only eggs are removed from the board when shrunk.

3. Don't think so. But any AGT that is removed from the board because it was killed, or it grew or shrank, is available to be used again later. The AGT player is limited by the pieces at hand, so there's a limit to, say, how many fragments can ever be on the board at once.

4. Rocket fuel "expands" to affect all such areas up until it reaches a hatch. The crew player is allowed to fire weapons, toss rocket fuel, etc, through a door though and escape its effects.

I think I was making a big mistake when we played it before. I thought that if an AGT was killed, that its chit was removed from play for the rest of the game. It sounds like you are saying that it just gets taken off the board when it is killed, but it is used again if the AGT player has opportunity to grow babies into adults. Thanks for the help!

Yes. They get returned to the monster pool for later use if the Green things can do another grow cycle.

But keep in mind that if you do not have an appropriate free counter left to play. The monsters cannot grow or fragment into such.
