This is very basic, but I'm still not understanding it...

Is the total of my dice the total of the saved dice only, or the total of all the dice I just rolled?

So it's only possible to get a tile with my first roll if I roll a lot of worms, right?

Yes, 5 worms in your first roll gets you the 25 tile. No matter what your other dice showed (unless they are more worms).

The rules are pretty clear on this. Yes, you keep all matching dice that you roll.
