Studying the German rules and this version has just one rule book, but new rules are added in bleu in each section which makes things confusing as it does not explain what the other way of doing things is.

ahwell,...

question about them three markers for industry, landforces and seaforces.
My rules seem to forget to mention them, other than saying these are in the box. So what do I do with these?

question about neutral troops.
We will play with four, which will leave two capitals neutral.

[wich reminds me, still have to find a bit which will explain about hem twinned capitals, why is that???]

anyway two neutral capitals, does this mean I will also use the two remaining colours for neutrals or can I just use one for all neutrals.
as I understand it the neutrals are only in their capitals?
while choosing the areas you want at the beginning of the game, the neutral forces don't select areas that will be neutral?

Hi! Everything I'm about to say applies to the 'Premium' game, which I've played 8 times. I've never used the longer 'Epic' rules.

The chips for industry leader, land majority, and sea majority are awarded at the end of each round.

The industry leader is the player with the largest number of factories.
The land majority holder is the player occupying the most land territories.
The sea majority holder is the player occupying the most sea territories.

If there's a tie, the player currently holding the chip keeps it. If there's a tie and no player holds the chip, nobody gets it. Each of these chips is worth 1 point.

Neutral troops can all be one color, and may only be placed in the neutral capitals. No areas start out neutral.

I think the capitals are twinned to create more tension in the early game in larger games. By starting out right next to each other, players are forced into earlier confrontation than they otherwise might experience. This speeds up a larger game.

In your four-player game, the person whose draft-round card has the highest attack value picks his capital first. The next-highest player can now pick any capital on the board, including the start player's twin position. The third player must take either the start or the second player's twin position if possible. If the first two players are twinned to each other, he can pick any remaining capital. The fourth player will never have a choice of capital- he must start twinned with whichever of the first three players still has no twin.

Thanks Sean.

I've read that the english version contains two rule books.
The german version only has the one rule book, but in this the rules for the epic game are added in bleu.

This does not avoid confusion and I'm almost thinking it would be far easier to just use all the rules that to try and figure out how things should be done in the none epic version.

for example there is a section on land areas.
This whole section is in blue, so it's an epic rule and it states how you pick your area one player after the other.

However nowhere does it mention what you do with the land areas in the non epic version of the game.

I get the impression you don't get to re enforce neutral areas in the non epic game.

At the end of the rule book they repeat the epic rules.
So why confuse us by mentioning them amidst the beginners rules.
It sure confuses me...

Okay as I'm reading and translating the book as I type this I wonder if I may not have found the difference.

in the epic game you get to pick the areas you want.

in the normal rules you place reenforcements on areas with produktion centres and, as I assume conquer the world from there.

Strange as I understood the epic game is much longer.
It seems to me the normal game must be longer as you do not have your units in place but have to conquer the areas first....

English rules also have blue text, to indicate rules that are different in two versions. They are not to be omitted.

This isn't right. In both versions you place your units in production centres.

Main difference in versions is different scoring, and in premium rules players alternate taking all areas, and only remaining capitals get neutral units, while in epic rules players alternate taking five areas, and rest get neutral units.
