When I first got DotF i was thinking why would panthers be in this set. And yeah it states that they were inculded to be used in future expansions. Yet when the expansions came out, they had panthers come with them. So really putting panthers with DotF was a big waste of resorces when we could have had some more crusaders, matlidas or panzers III's. For a theater of the war were wide open spaces and tank engagments were famous only having 4 of each tank is just not right, the plastic from those panthers could have gone to some better use.

I agree.

Or better yet, instead of Panthers, they could have used the resources to make one more new British tank... oh, I don't know... like the Churchill? Another famous British tank that saw action in North Africa as well as other theaters.

Don't quote me on this, but I think adding the Panther to the DotF expansion was more political than anything else. There is a picture of a Panther tank on the Tide of Iron box, and people were wondering why there were no Panthers in the game. This of course was even before the first expansion came out.

I see what you are saying about putting the panters with DotF for "political" reasons but didn't normandy come out the same year?

Even though both seem to have the same release date, I clearly remember that there was a long period between both expansions. Anyway, even before DotF, people were wondering about the Panthers since its pictured on the cover art. Seems strange, I know, but have a look at the forum thread if you can find it. It would be from many years ago.

If that was the rationale for the panther of DotF, then either the churchill or the cromwell should have been included here or the other expansions.

The Sherman 76mm and firefly should be in there as well..if you think about it can be represented by the same model. At the very list, a marker chit which you can use to mark the Shermans from the base set as the upgunned versions can be used. All we need are the stats.
