In case you missed the other thread, I'd like to mention the Official Jungle Speed Championship happening on August 13th in Glasgow, Scotland.
It begins at 12 noon at

This is about 15 minutes wander from the coach station or 20 minutes from the train station.
I expect the winner to be decided by 6:30. Afterwards, there will be live music, limbo, thai ballon game and dancing.
Round 1 will involve everyone separating into groups of 10. Winning a game grants 2pts. Coming 2nd gets you 1pt. 3 pts and you advance to the next round.
Each subsequent round will involve roughly half the previous number and every round other than round one requires you to win twice to proceed.
The semi-finals and finals will use the 2p variant rules and the 3p variant rules will also come into place. To be crowned the champion, you must be good at jungle speed, regardless of number of players!
To enter, you must pay £5. This grants you a free drink, gives money towards Wateraid and if you're skillful, you may be granted a title and/or prizes!
Spectators are welcome.
If competitors wish to stay for the evening's entertainment, they must pay another £2 (all profits going to Wateraid).
If you fancy your chances, come along!
If you wish to enter, buy tickets now to avoid disappointment. 17 places left but if more people want to enter, I can get another judge and another copy of the game (or two)...

12 NOON - The WORLD OFFICIAL JUNGLE SPEED TOURNAMENT begins. People not taking part can just chill, chat, watch and maybe try to distract all the players.
6:30ish - EVENING ENTERTAINMENT starts. Live music, physical games and a DJ for dancing.
To encourage folk to commit to this event, I am taking money for tickets starting now. All tickets include a 'free' drink and any profits will go to Water Aid.
If you wish to come along, chill out and head off at 6pm Saturday, then you don't need to buy any tickets. Just bear in mind that you will probably be asked to leave at 6ish (or buy a ticket if any are available).
£5 = JUNGLE SPEED ENTRY + FREE DRINK
You'll be allowed to take part in the World Championship, possibly winning the title of the Jungle Speed Champion of the known universe. Possibly not. Probably having a laugh anyway. You'll have to leave around 7.
£6 = EVENING ENTERTAINMENT + FREE DRINK
The evening will feature live music (Sunshine Social, Acid Darling, Glasgow Glambangers, Scunner and mystery surprises), limbo, a Thai balloon game then a DJ playing salsa and funk for optional dancing. Music ends at midnight.
You won't be allowed to compete in the tournament but can spectate and maybe distract the players with funny noises...
£7 = JUNGLE SPEED ENTRY + EVENING ENTERTAINMENT + FREE DRINK
If you wish to compete in the tournament and also stay for the evening entertainment, you must pay £7.
There are currently 17 available tickets for the tournament-entry and 20 available tickets for the evening entertainment. (Limited numbers for evening will ensure that there is a bit of space to move about in and dance.)
