At least the game itself is able to be put into english. of course, it took me a bit of messing around to find the download area, and then to set the game for english...

How do you say,

"I'm excited"

in French?

If only I spoke French. Any plans on an English version?

Anyone worked out how to register for online games?

I can get online, as far as the request for a username and password, but cannot find any place where you can register (either for free or paying) to be given a username.

In single player mode I have to toggle between applications (ie go from Formula de to say outlook then back again) to get the car to move or to have my dice rolled.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

This is very cool. In the single player mode is there any way to play a 3 lap race, or a championship rather than just a one off 1 lap race?

Ta,

Mike.....

(I have been thinking of getting Formula De, and this has increased my interest)

Just change the number of turns to 3 for a 3 lap race.

Thanks for the heads-up, this game is a lot of fun! I will have to read up on the rules, though, since I have only played Mini.

I downloaded the files from Rage after finding the link FLo711 mentioned, but it had only three additional circuits. Like others, I have been unable to open the files from the French FormuleDe Online web site. Does anyone have uncorrupted versions of the circuit files?
I'd love to be able to contact the folks in France, but I can't speak French.

Thanks to the OP! I just realized how old this thread was... but the files work fine, and it is a pretty decent implementation of the game. Thanks again!

Huh, looks like the game is still there, and it looks like there *still* isn't an open registration system. Just did a quick test of a 1-player (vs computer) game though and at least for that it seems to work.

Gotta say though, doesn't seem anywhere near as fun when the computer does almost everything for you...

There is a very casual clone on there, but it is missing ALOT of the gameplay. Basically just choose gear and try not to blow turns.

Oh, and you "flick" to choose what direction to go instead of choosing on the grid.

Are you talking about PicoGP Tactics?

Yeah, that would be the one.

Not exactly a clone, but there is certainly a similarity in the gearbox:distance mechanism.

To play in English:
Make a copy of the English.isl file in x86/formula de/languages
rename the Francais.isl to Francaisold.isl
and rename the copy of the english.isl to francais.isl

I have it working fine on windows 7
