I played the Forces of Darkness, and the darkness squares gets me fustrated because many characters cannot move in darkness without the torch except for some.

Will I find the same problem with the lava and water spaces in Fire & Water

It shouldn't be as "frustrating" for you. Most creatures can jump/fly over the lava (long as you have the jump cards), most creatures can swim in the water. Now some can't like the fire elemental can't go in the water and the water elemental can't go in the fire. There is also an acrobat who jumps without using a card.

Some other points the Courtesan can't be attacked and she is often a "blocker" but that depends on play style. The Magophage is antimagic. So they character may influence your opinion.

I personally love both Forces of Darkness and Fire & Water, but if you did not like Forces of Darkness because of movement limitations I would definitely not pick up Fire & Water instead.

I would say that in all the other expansions it is much easier to move around. One of my favorites is Mercenaries which I can recommend you to try.

I'm not being happy with forces of Darkness. then again, Maybe I'm not just playing right. I shouldn't let this one game tell me I cannot buy another expansion by the way how I feel at it, othewrwise I may be just waisitng my money. Oh and I looked into Mercenaries expansion. I don't like the look of the artwork on the room tiles. it's very confusing

Opposite opinion here, I'm afraid. I would pass on Forces of Darkness and get Fire and Water instead. Mercenaries is a lot of fun, but I would get Mercenaries after Fire and Water.
