but I don't like the artwork on the room tiles. It's too cluttered with so many things on the dungeon floor. it's not like the other Dungeon Twister games. there is a space that look like a staircase and another space that makes the corridor in a wavy like pattern

Can anyone give me a picture and describing some of the spaces.

The stair-looking things on the corners of 22 and across the middle of 21 are in fact stairs. They block line of sight unless both parties are on the same stairs. They also make combat a little trickier.

The wavy things in both rooms are gravity wells. No one can fly in these rooms, but you can still jump (even over them).

The blue thing on the top of 22 is a Fountain of Youth. You should know that from PaD.

The orange thing in the middle-bottom of 21 is a forge. You can make all weapon items better there.

The top-right and bottom-left corners of 21 are falling rocks. Again, you should know these from PaD.

There is an work shop with a random neutral item in the middle bottom of 22.

The squares with symbols in 22 are triggered traps. They are safe to stand on unless the trigger is also being stood on. The hex shaped green symbol is the trigger; stand on it and all of the green squares become pit traps. The red symbol trigger is on other tile.

Mercenaries actually has my favorite tile design along with Fire and Water. It has my favorite art along with Forest Creatures.

Close. Very close. Any stairs between competitors blocks line of sight. So if I'm on the bottom corner of Room 21, and you're in the top corner, I can see you (and shoot you). If I'm in the bottom corner and you're on your starting line, I can't see you.

And yes, they make combat harder - -1 to Strength for melee combat if you're on the stairs.

Good catch. I've not needed to deal with stairs in a while, so I was doing this whole list from memory.

For what it is worth, Mercenaries is by far my favorite of the 2 player expansions for DT. Having the forges, armories, and pit trap with pit trap triggers... there is now a reason to stay in the dungeon to get things done before exiting.

Agreed, this is the best expansion, I only wish it out in the 3/4 player pieces and not just the two player pieces.
