I have played Witch of Salem quite a few times now and still yet to beat the game.
Is there any tips or strategy on winning this game?
Any help would be great.

It is a tough little game that I haven't tabled in a bit. I recall winning only once out of many tries. Sorry no advice to give but keep at it and don't take the no telling rule to serious. We tell all when we play and still hard as a bugger.

Thanks, I'm going to give it another go on my next game club day which is on Sunday, so we will see how we go then.

It sometimes seems like it was modeled more after the original Arkham Horror in terms of difficulty than the newer version. Witch of Salem is pretty damn unforgiving. I just played my first game the other night. I think the difficulty doesn't necessarily make it a bad game, especially with the theme. When the matter of the game focuses on Lovecraftian themes of human insignificance in a largely mysterious and malevolent cosmos, winning the gasme should be as rare as the good guy's winning in mythos fiction.

One thing I've found that really helps is the "personal communication network". The game originally states that players can't tell other players where the gates are and aren't. Personally, I feel that the rule is rubbish because it just makes a difficult game nigh-impossible. So I instituted a 1930's version rule that allows any players in the same space to talk to each other and that information may be passed on. For example:
1) If I look at the gate at the Church and then you move there, I can show you that gate, so you also know what's there without you having to expend glasses to look at it.

2) I examine the gate at the Church on my turn. On the next turn, we are all recalled to Miskatonic. I can then inform everyone of the gate at the Church.

However, even with this rule, I still have yet to beat the game, but I've gotten a lot closer.

I played it again the other day and we were one turn off winning. We all got recalled back to the university which lost us the game.
