I just received my copy of the 2nd edition of Ideology.

At first, I was amazed that the box was so big, I thought it was going to be a small box for a card game. The box is about 1 square foot! Crud, how am I going to fit it on the game shelf?

There are small, square tokens (1/2" I think) and large square tokens for the countries (about 3" I think) both have great printing and die-cut jobs. Some of the tokens popped out with just shaking the counter sheet slightly. Others took a light poke. I compare this with some other games I have punched recently where I had to force the cardboard tokens out and be careful not to rip them at the same time.

All the cardboard is very thick and sturdy, which is great. The five ideologies' cardboard sheets and the tracking sheet are page-size, with fitting art and printed on both sides (which is interesting, seems unnecessary).

There are also a ton of small playing cards. If you hate small cards, you will feel rage at the sight of all of them. I don't mind them, and they are all nicely printed and on good card stock.

The rulebooks are in English and German, and printed in full color on nice, shiny paper.

As for game play, well heck I haven't played it yet. Reviews seem mixed. But I will vouch for the components.

Great job Z-man Games!

The ideology sheets have a variant on the back (except for Imperialism which is the same).

I do like this game but you do need 4+ players, in my view, to make it a good game.

Enjoy the game.
