Isn't the Two player game already in the rules of the game?

There are two-player rules in the rulebook, which involve seeding the board with tokens of a non-player color. They work great, and it's a very good two-player game as a result.

However, I do recall that there was another two-player variant someone here had come up with, and Rüdiger Dorn liked it so much it became a sort of "designer-approved" 2-player variant. Is that the one you're talking about?
