Here's a small variation using other qualities…
Memory Version
This variant is perfect for three or four players, though it becomes quite difficult with more. As in the classic game, one player will ask the questions. Each player draws a card and then writes the questions as explained below. If any player is taking too long, simply allow the hourglass to run twice.
Once everyone has finished, the first player (who will be the reader for the first round) places his card face-down on the table between the players. The hourglass is turned over, and all players can examine the card, attempting to commit the image to memory. Once time is up, the first player gets the card and asks questions while everyone writes the answers secretly on their own paper.
For this example, refer to the card shown in the rulebook, so as to avoid spoiling the discovery of other cards. Here are ten questions that could arise on the card, some of which are inspired by the notes on it. The answers are in parentheses.
- How many balls is the man balancing on his foot? (Three) - What expression is the puppet showing? (Sticking out her tongue) - Between the left shoe, the right shoe and the nose, which is largest? (Nose) - What is holding up the man's pants? (Suspenders) - How is the man's tie decorated? (A set of small black squares) - How many fingers are on each of the man's hands? (Four) - Do we see a lower jaw or an upper jaw? (Both) - What is the character doing with his wand? (Spinning it - see the motion lines) - What color is the stick? (White with a black tip) - What is the puppet holding in his hand? (Nothing!)
Scoring
When all questions have been asked, reveal the answers. Each player scores one point for each correct answer. The reader scores a point if at least one player has the right answer to a question, unless all players discovered the answer, in which case he scores none at all. If everyone got the answer, or nobody got it, the reader does not score. The questions should not be too easy or too hard!
Once all players have been the reader one time, add up the points. The player with the most points wins.
Have fun!
