Yes, it looks alot like a prequel to BG:Galaxies.
Hasbros display wall at Comicon showed listings for several movies based on games and toys. Battleship, Clue, Monopoly, Ouija, Risk, Candyland, Micronauts, Stretch Armstrong and GI Joe 2.
Went to see it today. It is classic Battleship, with even ***SPOILER*** a square grid and coordinates. The aliens actually made the movie closer to the game thanks to their disparate technologies, making radars and targeting systems useless, and turning the exchange of shots into a guessing game.
Didn´t know it was based in the game until the credits, thanks to the portuguese translation "Batalha dos Mares". "Batalha Naval" would be more accurate.
