I did my part #235.

I was tempted by the VPG version, but the Deluxe treatment by GMT makes this a no brainer for me. I think my family will enjoy this one.

I have the VPG edition and instantly preordered it when it appeared on P500. I was gonna pimp my VPG copy but I think I'll wait!

Preorders hit 250 today! Huzzah!

So, does anyone have 250 friends to finish this off?

Began with a bang rushing to about 200 in a week or two, but it now looks like it will take a very long time for the remaining numbers to show up as it has hardly moved now for a few weeks.

The most beautiful things in nature stay that way because most humans are too lazy to ruin them ...

I think some publicity in the main forum threads would help, or more video reviews & session reports from those who already own a copy of the game ..

Lets get the name and word out there!

I've already P500'd (can't wait), but I'd be happy to butcher up a video review with the VPG version if someone that owns it doesn't feel up to it

Don't currently own the VPG version though.

Yeah, there needs to be some publicity to get the general BGG users to notice the game. New reviews, session reports, designer diaries, GMT publicity. All that would help.

I think the problem is GMT is primarily known for wargames so not enough euro gamers even consider checking out GMT's P500 games.

That's true to some extent, although the success of Dominant Species and Twilight Struggle do have more non-wargamers looking.

In the olden days (i.e., a few years ago), it took months for a P500 to get to 500. I think the success of some games recently in moving quickly has spoiled people. Some games take a year or more to reach 500. I think people who worry that VPG was going to produce games just to have GMT produce a fancier edition should take heed. Even if GMT wants to do a fancier version of the game, there's probably a 2-3 year gap (minimum) between VPG's publishing the game and GMT's edition.

did my part, #266. And this one certainly need more publicity - I'm not a wargamer and only have those more popular GMT titles like Dominant Species and Twilight Struggle. If not GMT newsletter I would never know about Circus Train, never heard of it during my (daily) BGG visits

I figure I'll post here to bump this back onto the front page briefly.

I looked at it's just about at 300 on the P500.

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

Is there a list or Geeklist or something somewhere with the VPG games that have been picked up by GMT? Or is it just Circus Train and No Retreat! at this point?
There are quite a few VPG games I have my eye on, and, a deciding factor might be one that has the GMT upgrade treatment.

No Retreat! is the only VPG game that has actually been published by GMT. The Fading Glory quad contains 3 games that were published by VPG and 1 new game.

The only other one to be published by GMT at this point is Circus Train, although there certainly could be others in the future.

Had added the game to my wishlist, then saw GMT P500 for November 2011 on the front page and when I spotted this game I jumped on board. #306

Another 10 over the last 2 weeks. At this rate it will be 34 weeks before it hits 500.
