Up to 363.

First couple days of this thread to get 160's (end of August)
1 month to get to 260's (end of September)
3 months to move from 260's to 360's (end of December)

ZackStack nominated the Deluxe Edition for the 20 Most Anticipated Games of 2012. I hadn't really given Circus Train much attention, but after looking into it further I bumped it up from 357 to 358.

You can second ZackStack's nomination here and give the deluxe edition a chance at the top 20:

20 Most Anticipated Games of 2012

It needs to be in the top 50 to make the final poll for the top 20.

As of right now, it won't make the cut of the top 50 with only 12 nominations.

Only about 15 in the last 2 months. At that rate it hits 500 in about a year.

440 in the 500 as of today...only 60 more. It's slow going but that means those of us who have signed up needs to talk this game up. Keep mentioning it in replies to forum posts and GL entries. Hell add it to GL's and lets get this done.

I actually just got a copy of the original VPG game, so I intend to actually write it up on my blog and on F:AT once I've played it a few times.

Looks like this is no more. GMT is giving the rights back to VPG, who intends to print on their own. From the GMT updates email:

Quote:
On the games front, we have decided to give two of the titles that we had previously put on our P500 list back to VPG, as they now have the resources to do those games at a much higher quality than before. One game, Circus Train, was not doing real well on our P500 list, and Alan noted that they have the ability to get this game back into print very quickly, which will get royalties to the designer much more quickly than we could have, given where it sat on our P500 list. The other game we are returning to VPG is Revolt & Revolution, which is actually three of their State of Siege series games packed into one box. This was a case where the game was doing ok on our P500 list, but it proved not feasible for either of our companies to free up the necessary development resources to get the third game in the pack ready for publication anytime soon. I'd guess VPG will probably re-release those games individually at the first opportunity, but I can't really speak to their production, just that we are removing this game (and Circus Train) from our P500 list as of today.

Boy, I'm glad I have the old copy.

That's a real bummer. I was really excited about GMT's version. Having said that, the new Gold Banner releases from VPG are quite good, so this could still get a great production.

I was excited to get this through GMT, given the high quality of their version of No Retreat. But I will need to see if the VPG Gold Banner series is up to GMT-level quality before I commit to buying Circus Train through VPG. Pity.

Agreed. What titles are Gold Banner so far? I'd like to see some pics.

Here's a pic they took when they first started doing it. This is from Alan Emrich's gallery.

There's a list on their site here.

edit to add: I'd buy another copy of it if they did a Gold Banner version.

They are some of the nicest counters I've ever seen. Swing States 2012 is a Gold Banner game as well, although it doesn't have a mounted board. Some of the GB games do, however.
