We've been playing Big Cities without the longest route bonus because unlike the other two variants in the 1912 rules there's no line that says, "All other rules remain unchanged."

I also just like it better that way.

However, does anyone know the official word? I haven't found a rules clarification anywhere. Not that I'm going to change or anything. Just curious.
