Thank you sir!

Quote:

And here are some questions to start the ball rolling:

I like questions. I don't like being congratulated.

Let's see how long we can go without that happening.

Quote:
1. How, exactly, do wimpgames differ from adventure games?

Well, adventure games include wargames, what I'd call wimpgames, and
the semi-RPG stuff (along with full blown RPGs).

Wimpgames basically are wargames that non-wargamers would
play. Though, I have to admit, I include things like Shanghai
Trader (recently vidded) which are not wargames in anyone's
book, I think.

Quote:
2. What does your username mean?

It doesn't MEAN anything.
Name of my first D&D character.

Quote:
3. Will you ever pull a George Lucas and go back and fiddle with your old vids, perhaps even inserting bad CGI effects?

I've already done that. Added some censorship, and rearranged the
order to the original intention.

Quote:
4. If you had to choose one band/musician to write the Official Wimpgamers' Anthem, who would it be?

The Clash. Though BOC's my (defined as) favorite group.

Quote:
Please join me in hoisting a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster to toast our incoming Geek of the Week.

Is that safe?

Rock on! Well done, Peter.

Congrats on your week, Enrico.

Oh bother, I lost before I could get my reply out.

Quote:
Standard question: You have one week to play any game you want, what do you select?

A week isn't a long time. :(

Right now, I pretty much have my life - and I'm pushing through
all my newer purchases. If I could only choose one, I guess
it would be Europa Universalis right now, but I wouldn't
get that done in a week.

Given THAT constraint (ouch!) I really can't say. I'll throw
Thirty Years War: Europe in Agony, 1618-1648 out, as I think it's the thing I'm most
curious about (though Axis Empires: Totaler Krieg!/Axis Empires: Dai Senso!)
would be up there for a shot - I doubt I could manage that in a
week either.

Nice! Have you lobbied for your wimpgamer category to be added as an official one on BGG yet?

Which of your countless games' videos is your favorite?

Cheers, (and congratulations)

Nah. I just like categories for myself.
I don't much care if anyone understands me.

La Révolution française: La patrie en danger 1790-1796 I think.
Had a seminal playing during it (though not the only one).

I have always admired your guts in sharing your thoughts and feelings so openly and generously!

GROG GRATZ! as I recall upon "calandale's" first appearances onto BGG, since there were many another that 'decried' his own "writing style" then. That had more to do with paragraphical 'formatting' than anything else, and I'm glad to "C" he's disregarded that nonsense and kept "at it" with nary a L@@K-BACH! or regret since.

"Kewldoes, my dear 'compatriot'!" cool

Love used to be my definition of success.

Now? I think I still believe that, but I care less.
I just want to avoid misery.

It's not as though I can actually HELP it.

Don't take this the wrong way . . .

Don't you hate it, when people start out with a disclaimer, only to confirm the very reason they had to make a disclaimer in the first place?

That was not my question, or was not suppose to be . . .

Back to my comment, don't take this the wrong way, but I am glued to your videos (especially sessions reports) on the off chance that I will see some signs of foul play in that rubble to the top right of your table. Drops of blood? Severed hand? Severed hand wrapped in one of those plastic bags? I know, I know, it is kinda Rear Window-ish . . . but there is something about your hypnotic delivery, lone-wolf persona, wild mused hair, beard, stache, etc. (not to mention the pipe, oh, just did) that says "something more is going on here" . . .

Keep up the great work and just know: "I'll be watching."

Oh . . . question: What is your favorite horror-themed game?

No. I like ammunition.

I don't think there's a quota.

I have to be careful with comments here - wouldn't want
to give up answers to the questions.

But, yes.

You can't outcreep the creepiest of all.

I think I enjoyed Vampire: The Masquerade the most out of all.

If you mean BOARD games, I guess I'll go with
Undead - mainly because I'm not even
sure I've PLAYED another. Hmmm...I played some other
Dracula game in the early '90's - a little light for
my taste. Had lots of cookies on the board.

Hurray! I'm super excited! I had a feeling you were next, or, rather, I hoped, since USRlocal comments even more than I do on your Not Yet Receiving list. Anyway, I'm not going to ask you any questions since I do that nigh on all the time already and I won't congratulate you either. I am going to let you know that I am a bubble of excitement. You deserve the recognition. Pop!

Congratulations!

Your videos are disturbing 'cause there's no bird talking to me (really ~ don't most of y'all see each other as their avatars? [for instance, billyboy's change is unsettling - like someone doing a radical 'personal makeover' {"Changed my hairstyle / so many times now / I don't know what I look like."}]).

Just talked with a friend in your neck-of-the-desert: what's your experience with Sand Storms?

Now this is long time coming.

My through congratulations and my standard questions...

1. If you could play any one game with any one person, live or dead, who and what would it be?

2. Same question, but a fictional person.

In closing - you better play one game of The Fellowship of the Ring with me before either of us die.

Congratulations again - you deserve an outstanding week.

I think my favorite is negotiation - because I can do
that solo or opposed. A close runner up is storytelling,
but that doesn't work well alone for me.

My least favorite is perhaps opposed dice offs - at least
when they can continue indefinitely (say on ties). Memorization
is another icky one for me.

I would think what IS there is more disturbing than
what is not.

After watching your bio videos...

1) Have you read The Theater and Its Double by Antonin Artaud?

2) Have you read Promethea (a series of comic books/graphic novels... with a beginning, middle, and end) by Alan Moore?

I guess those are questions... if not recommendations. Some of your musings weave in and out of my thoughts on those works... as well as some of my earlier gaming experiences.

Congratulations

Europa Universalis, eight player variant, solo.

Unfortunately, a good deal of the rules are still in French.

Quote:

Not sure I'm not fictional.

I think I'd go with Cheetah, from Titus Alone - but
WHAT to play with her? She's delightfully cruel,
so probably something she would mock me at (or vice
versa). Given her era, I'll pick two player 1830: Railways & Robber Barons.

Will do - if we end up near one another.

I ALMOST ended up in your neck of the woods for a conference,
but bailed out of security stuff.
