In the instructions that came with English Mayfair Games version of the game, it states that during deck preparation for two or three players, a pile of 15 cards is drawn from the Pompeii/Omen cards. Then, one of the A.D. 79 cards is shuffled into those 15 cards. However, in a file in this section on Deck Preparation, it states that during deck preparation for two or three players, a pile of 10 cards (instead of 15 cards) is drawn from the Pompeii/Omen cards.

So, which is correct during deck preparation? Are the rules from the English instructions that came with the manual correct (15 cards are drawn from the Pompeii/Omen cards for two or three players and 10 cards are drawn for 4 players)? Or, is the file in this section on deck preparation correct (10 cards are drawn from the Pompeii/Omen cards for two or three players and 15 cards are drawn for 4 players)?
Thanks.
Richard

I have always played following the wording in the English rulebook. I do not understand the complaint that the rules are unclear in the files section; I found the file's instructions to be much less clear than the rulebook.

However, I have tried using 10 cards with all number of players and it does not break the game in any way.

We have always followed the printed rules for the game and shuffled the volcano card into the bottom 15 cards for 2-3 player games and into the bottom 10 cards into the 4-player game. The change for 4 players insures that the eruption doesn't come too early with more players (when everyone still wouldn't have that many citizens placed).
