This French-designed Eurogame is generally fun.

It follows the standard pattern of Eurogames, in the way that all the players execute a set of actions per turn. In this case, the actions are aucting for Moais, placing your workers, Chief and Sorcerer at places in the mapboard, marking and transporting the Moiais.

It is beautifully crafted and has strong pieces (plastic most of them). The five clans has, instead of only differente colors, also different designs for their workes, Chief and Sorcerers, which is pretty cool. The mapboard is good and all things are printed on it clearly visible. It's indeed not a long game, in 90-110 minutes most you finish it, mainly if you're not playing it for the first time and already know the rules.

The game is basically a race to see who will transport the Moais to the best places on the mapboard, and do it fast, because game ends when any player finish placing all his bases. A thing that I thought flawed in the scoring is the overrated value of having half-tablets in your hands. This unbalances terribly the final scoring and sometimes makes all your hardwork of transporting the Moais a little bit useless.

It has some educational value if you're playing it with your kids, at least they will know about the existence of Eastern Island and the Moais.

This was acknowledged and corrected by the designer. There is a FAQ/errata somewhere that says tablets are now worth nothing for scoring. The original idea was to give some compensation to players with unused tablets at the end, which would work well if everyone played "in the spirit of the game", but holding them turned out to be a viable strategy.

By the way, I think your post would suit better in the comments section of the game page.
