I and my wife - we are really big fans of ToAN. But there is a little drawback in this otherwise great and very funny game - you often get the feeling that there is really no difference what choices you make. After a recent play we came up with an idea how we can remedy this a little bit. With our variant each player will try to base their choices on the Way of Life he or she tries to follow. Still there is no telling how well will you do, but there is certainly a general goal to which you can try to aspire.

Please check out our Masters of Fate variant in the Files section: Masters of Fate variant

Here's a brief description:

The goal of this variant is to encourage more role-playing while paying less attention to point-scoring, or rather make those points less abstract. The general idea is that now in order to win you don't have to score Destiny or Story points, but to fulfill certain requirements associated with some way of life, which are described on your Fate Card.
