Hello!
I just bought W&W, haven't opened it yet but it seems that the questions asked on the cards are "America-centric" (meaning that things are asked in terms of "inches", "feet", etc.), right? What is some way for non-U.S. players to get around this problem? Should I have a print-out of unit conversions or something like that? Thank you!

It really doesn't matter in this game...

The only other thing I can think of is to buy the Gambit 7 United Common Wealth edition and to use those questions with the Wits & Wagers game.
Other than that, I think you'll just have to deal with the US centric measurements. Sorry.

I guess me and my friends will learn more than the answers to the questions then. Thank you!

For fun, you could make up your own questions as well.

The simplest thing is to convert the US answers into metric. Although I do say that as a Brit where we've had a bizarre arrangement of using both in public life ever since 1970. As such most people know the basic conversions (1in=2.54cm, 1kilo=2.2ilbs etc) off by heart.

Alas, for me, I find that it does.

Alas, for me, I find that it does. For some of us, it doesn't faze us, but I've seen my fair share of Americans get all "whiney" when they had to deal with the metric system.

Edit: see Dom's reply below.

Having looked at the sample question I'm a bit gutted, as they are way too US-centric for me...
From the first 28 sample questions the following, to different degrees, are too US-centric for me. Thats around 40%. Hope a universal copy comes out.
1.How many points did Michael Jordan average per game? 2.How many miles long is the Mississippi River? 3.In what year were women in the U.S. granted the right to vote? 4.In what year was John Scopes fined $100 for the crime of teaching evolution in a Tennessee high school? 5.What percent of U.S. households own at least one pet cat? 6.In what year did basketball stars Magic Johnson and Larry Bird make their NBA debut? 7.How many feet below sea level is Death Valley at its lowest point? 8.How many Olympic Games, both Summer & Winter, were held in the U.S. during the 20th century? 9.In what year did the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum open in Cleveland, Ohio? 10.In what year did Jackie Robinson become the first African-American to play Major League Baseball in the 20th century? 11.In what year did the TV channel FOX make its first U.S. broadcast? 12.How many monologues did Johnny Carson deliver as host of The Tonight Show?

You're from Scotland! Why are you looking at the US version of the game instead of Gambit 7, the Commonwealth edition of the game?
I doubt too many of those questions will be US centric. Let me know if I'm wrong!

Ding! In my defence I didn't realise what I was looking at nor what there was to look at. Thanks!
