VARIANT Set #1

Part-1 FORTRESS AMERICA X-Pack 1 Here's my 'suggestion', for the time being, that could be used to determine the selection of a *SPECIAL* 'Unit' as a 'casualty'. When the 'die' is rolled, of which any of those are involved or intermixed with just 'Regular' UNITS, then the 'number' itself could determine 'this' being HIT, if it is either EVEN or ODD. Maybe consider when an 'Attacker' rolls, then ODD 'die rolls' would 'affect' a *SPECIAL* 'Unit', while a 'Defender' rolls an EVEN 'number', and this would do likewise. It'll make you pay even MORE attention as you greedily anticipate THIS!

Part-2 FORTRESS AMERICA X-Pack 1 #2
''Futu-Fighters''

'click' on the photo to enlarge this!

EACH Player will begin the 'Game' with '2' of these
The descriptions for these is as follows:
''Defensive Interceptor''-placed when 'Attacked' by AIR Units
''Offensive Support''-placed where 'Defending' AIR Units are located
LIMIT of '1' per 'AREA' per Player for placements
These are held off board and considered to have unlimited RANGE
The 'Attacking' Player places his '1st' after ALL other MOVES have been conducted
The 'Defender' then places his own after the 'Attacker'
These then 'Combat' against ALL 'Enemy Air Units' within their 'Area' that they're in.
They 'Fire' by having their intended 'Target' match 'die-rolls' against them, for a single 'round'. If this is a TIE or Higher 'die-roll' by the 'Target', then the 'Target' SURVIVES! Otherwise, then they're 'shot down'!
When '2' opposing 'FUTU-Fighters' are located within the same 'Area', then they 'Battle' each other FIRST using a 'd-10' apiece for this. A TIE 'die-roll' in this instance, 'aborts' or cancels each other OUT, while the Higher 'roller' shoots down his opponent. Any 'surviving' will then get to take their 'shots'.
It should also be noted that ONLY where the 'Enemy' has placed AIR Units versus your OWN 'Units', THEN would these be able to become 'available'.

You can utilize ANY available 'Fighters' for this purpose, such as are found in the 'Monsters Menace America' game or the kinds that 'Table Tactics' happen to sell too. Other possible sources could be plastic Modern Naval Aircraft from the likes of 'Aircraft Carriers' and such.
