Tigers in the Snow is sadly out of print. Now comes the ugly part. Speculators will unload their supplies of stock at greatly increased prices. I saw one copy go on ebay for over $120. Seriously?!? I know we all love our free market economy, but this sort of greed just turns my stomach.

I suppose the buyer is just as guilty as the seller, but if the demand is that high, clearly DoW could profit by printing more copies. This is especially puzzling if they plan to release products in the future that require components, probably the tanks, from out of print expansions.

I don't understand why they cannot do a P500 or P1000. There are companies that make profit on this...surely DoW could also make a profit. They could give the project to a summer intern if they could not spare the time. The molds are made already...what is the expense to make the plastic bits? That expense couldn't be recovered with the profits? How many would need to be made to provide a profit? Maybe a P5000...

But I doubt they will.

well i would suggest ppl look at stores around the world aswell. I know of one in australia that still has all the memoir 44 items. It may cost more in postage but no where near $120 that ppl are listing on ebay

What is the seller guilty of in the first place? If i have something, and people want to buy it, it's going to the highest bidder. What's wrong with that?

We're all in favor of a free market--whatever the market will bear--and ebay is a great way to get ahold of some great second hand games. What I object to is speculators rushing in to buy up the remaining stock with the intention only to make a profit. Games were made to be played, so let people who actually want to play the games get their hands on them.

While you could argue that those sorts of game players should have acted sooner to purchase the games at lower prices, I can only respond that I had no idea Tigers was going out of print and I thought I had all the time I wanted.

Fair enough Dumpty. I get what you're saying. Personally, i've never sold a game in my life. I've given games away to people i've played with simply because they seemed to like it a lot more than i did. Games make good gifts and we can play the next time we visit.

As for Tiger going out of print. That sucks, but the good ones i want seem to be the games that always go OOP too. Keep your eyes peeled, a copy for a fair price will turn up.

edit--- actually, i'll be hitting up some game stores in the next few days (there are three in my town, lucky us) if i see a copy, i'll snag it for ya. I'll subscribe to this thread and get back

Its strange that the overlord maps are going out of print as so many people find this part of the game so enjoyable, If DoW read their forums they would see that overlord is very popular with players

If they did that, I'd sign up for sure. I would like the Tigers myself, but I can't find myself able to spend $120 for it.

If you find extra, buy one for me:-) My 6-yr old will thank you, because that's about all I hear about besides getting the Med Pack.

Just picked up the Campaign Bag and the Breakthrough boards. Besides the Holy Grail-esque Tigers, the only M44 bit I still need is the Winter Wars expansion.

Still on the lookout for Tigers though...

I'll double check, but my FLGS had copies of Hedgerow Hell and Tigers in the Snow when I was last there a week or two ago. I bought one of each and remarked to the owner that I was shocked they still had them as they were OOP and fetching high prices on eBay. He said he was sure they were going to be reprinted. I shook my head and told him he needed to start getting his info from a bit higher up the chain than from his distributor as he's been blissfully unaware of much lately.
