Back on April 27, 2011 there was notice posted in the News section that Queen would be putting out a new revised version of Res Publica on August 20th.

I've heard nothing about this edition since. Have any of you?

It's to be published by Essen. If you look at the main image of the game you can see the new cover.

Just watched the stream Queen demo from Essen. New stuff added! Monks, Libraries and so on. Not a straight reprint.

New components and rules are added, but the original version of the game is playable (and described in the rules), so this looks to be a superset of the original version.

How about something new, instead of a rehash?

There were plenty of new games in Essen as well. And of course some rehashes. I can't see the problem with that.

Hoping this edition of Republica withe the new additions enhances the gaming experience. If so, that wouldn't be a rehash. It was a near great game, but something seemed off.

Interesting - I always regarded this as one of Reiner's better card games. Very clever trading mechanic.
