I don't think this question has been asked before now?

If my opponent surrounds some territory and I, in turn, completely surround her surrounding wall and territory, is that territory, then, again available to both players for building placement? My guess is: Sure, why not? What do you think?

For that to happen, it was never anybody's territory and it was never surrounded. You only surround territory when at most one of your opponent's pieces is in it (and if there is one, then it is immediately captured).

It could happen if your opponent uses a piece such as the Tower or Infirmary and captures a corner area. Then you could surround that single piece and would be able to capture it. You would be able to place pieces in this captured area but your opponent would not be able to place pieces in it.

You can't capture an area once your opponent has two pieces in area you are trying to capture.

If someone puts a small piece in the corner, he is a fool. If this is to bait a trap, and the opponent falls into the trap, they are both fools.
