Okay, we played Yspahan yesterday and really liked it. There were quite a few issues with it, though, which maybe exist because we made rules mistakes:
1) What happens when there are not enough game components? Camels and Coins were fast done during the third week, with people hoarding up
2) What happens when you don't have enough cubes to place? Again, during the third week some players didn't have enough cubes to place everywhere they could
3) Maybe there is a rule we missed? I noticed that you clear every house in the board, as well as the caravan. You don't clear the buildings that you've build, you keep those for the next weeks, right? Well, we played it this way, and every player had every building by 3rd week easily
4) So we empty the caravan at some point in the 7th day, and another player places one cube. At the end of the week we clear the caravan again, right?
5) There is no limit in hand size, right? When we played it, every player who drew the cards that gave 1 point per gold/camel saved them for the third week, thus hoarding, thus the components ending

From what I read, I think we did some mistakes. Are the following correct?
a) You clear the buildings every end of the week. That is absolutely nowhere in the Ystari rules
b) You don't empty the caravan at the end of the week, simply score. When it is full, you score again.
c) OK, this is the main rule I did wrong. "The player removes one of the dice groups from the Tower board. The chosen group will not be available to the next players anymore. Depending on the square they have chosen, the player may then take one of the three available actions for the chosen group of dice"
Well, we did all three. Each player took his gold/camels or placed his squares, then moved the supervisor, then drew a card.
Damn, we played uber Yspahan. It actually worked, since the supervisor moved around a lot, a lot of cubes were moved to the caravan and a lot of cards were played.

a) You never clear the special buildings you've built. You do clear the cubes from the board at the end of each week.
b) Correct. You only clear the caravan when it fills (after scoring it).
c) Well there's your problem!

Oh, and on our version of Yspahan-on-steroids the first player had about 140 points

It sounds like you identified a number of issues, but here are a few more:
1. There are limits on the camels for points (4 camels) and gold for points (10 gold) cards. 2. There are no limit on cards in your hand. I am pretty sure camels, gold, and cubes are unlimited, i.e. not limited by the component mix. 3. You score the caravan when it fills AND at the end of the week. You only empty it when it fills. 4. Playing correctly, it is not unusual for the winner to exceed 100 points. Yspahan is correctly implemented on yucata.de if you want to try some games with a "referee" who knows the rules.

Thank you Christopher, we were getting 1 and 2 correctly.
Still, there is no rule for what happens when the coins or camels are not enough? Even in the rarest occasion that this thing happens?

Coins and camels are not meant to be limited, so substitute with anything on hand. I doubt it would ever happen though.

what about the player cubes?? when you don't have any left, you can't place them?

So, that's what we were doing wrong! We also played uberYspahan. Oops! The game was fun for the first two weeks (and the first three-ish days of week three) then it got real boring/frustrating real fast. We were okay for camels/coins but ran out of both cards and cubes.
