Okay so I recently got insecta mutant kit and the rainforest expansion but I already want more. This made me wonder if there will ever be a reprint of insecta in the not so distant future? If Phil ever does consider a reprint may I suggest you bump up the price of the game and just merge all of the expansions and the base game together? Also if it's not being reprinted anytime soon does any one know where I could obtain the trilobite expansion pack. Lastly I reallly hope this game gets reprinted in the future because A) it's the only insect combat game there is B) My younger brother (6) loves this game to bits!

Thanks for reading,

Gabriel Mann

If there's sufficient call for it I suppose we could try a print-on-demand edition, after all modern duplication methods are more than adequate for most of the components. I'll mention it to Phil the next time I talk to him.

How about using Kickstarter to gauge interest? Perhaps we could then get the deluxe Insecta edition that I've been desiring.

I've been intrigued by Kickstarter for a while now, but even if I got the investment for a traditional production run I'd still have to administer it (i.e., assemble and ship the games, canvass distributors and retailers to stock it, pack and ship individual mail-order sales, etc.) I have a family and demanding day job to look after now, and can't even dream of going back to doing the above. FMG was ultimately not simply a business but a full lifestyle.

Perhaps more importantly: The physical presentation of the second edition, while a great advance over the first, pales in comparison to modern boardgame standards. So a straight reprint would be of limited demand, more suited to a print-on-demand offering.

A possible alternate path would be a total redesign, like Phil just did for American Megafauna into Bios: Megafauna. I think that's a great idea, but it's way beyond my means, and thus something to write fan mail to Phil about if you're interested.

I think print on demand would be perfect. I would certainly buy it immediately. Also print on demand means you don't need to worry about the game doing poorly, though I am certain it would do well. It also increases expandability of the game quite a bit . You should go for it!

Count me in, as one of those interested in a Deluxe edition, with all of the expansions.

I got a whole department of entomologists that would love to play if more copies ever do get made, particularly if they're redesigned all pretty. I've already got several of them trained on Bios: Megafauna!
