We played this the other day, but got a little stuck with the setup for a 2 player game. The rules describe a process of handing out cash to the various players, but what does this mean in a 2 player game - does the start player get 0 and the other player get 1 gold?

We played it that way anyway, but was it correct?

The rule is
Quote:
The players choose a starting player. From the supply, he gives 1 gold to his left neighbor, 2 gold to the next player to the left, and 3 gold to the final player. He takes no gold for himself.

The starting player always starts with 0 gold and the second player always starts with 1 gold (regardless of the number of players). So yes, you played it correctly.
