An Ode to Ameritrash
Wooden Cubes? No! Trade this for that? No! Farming for fun? No! Manage a warehouse? No! Negotiate peacefully? No way!
Lots of plastic? Oh yeah! Random and luck driven? Every time! Heavy theme? Drip, drip. Conflict resolution? Hack 'n' Slash! Strategy? Um...can I roll again?
Fun? More than a pile of muddy pigs! Replay value? Lost count. Components? We like to call them toys. Big box? Won't fit on my shelf. Low Brow? Absolutely!

Whoa, I was with you until this line. No way any boardgame is more fun than a pile of muddy pigs!
Well, actually, there can be some merit in the argument that a pile of muddy pigs is pretty much Ameritrash at heart!

Once did I come upon a man who was cold, and I did teach him to build a fire that he might warm himself.
Once did I come upon a man who was starving, and I did teach him to fish that he might feed himself.
Once did I come upon a man who was bored, and I did teach him to game that he might get his butt kicked by me on a regular basis.

One of the most thematic games out there Star Trader drips with theme but also makes one manage a warehouse.

Through orbital bombardment of the opponent's warehouses, I hope?

Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

just making a point. Of course it belongs. But until this is resolved in fair and reasonable manner I think I shall continue to be the 'monitor' of all things red cross. . Or not.
